In today’s busy jungle of business, we are constantly clamoring for an edge, a loophole or a secret bag of tricks! During the day our conscious mind gets overwhelmed with Emails, appointments & to do’s, and One moment we are trying to be proactive, and suddenly we realize we have been Reacting for half the morning!
This Internal struggle of which tasks we Want to do vs, which tasks we Need to do, is just below the surface, but trying to get a hold of it, is like trying to clean a spot on your carpet and realizing that its just a shadow!
It’s important to note that our conscious mind can Only process about 40bits per/sec of info. But our subcon processes 40million bits per/sec! Because of this, and first hand Experience with being able to access the Subcon, I wish for everyone to harness this Productivity powerhouse!
As we contemplate, work, and react during the day, we may not know that when the feeling of stress or frustration starts to set in, What’s happening is that the conscious mind is being overloaded! You may recognize the body’s way of ridding this. (rubbing & stretching the face)(uncontrolled deep breath and a hard exhale), etc.
Now that I hopefully planted a seed for recognition. What do we do?
To be able to “clear the conscious”, you must simply find a way to bring your attention to something that has “No Judgement” attached to it! What this means is to move into into a state of strictly feeling.
If we take a break and go talk to a friend. Nope, the mind is working! If we go get a drink, our mind is working! If we sit back and “feel” its a nice day, it works!, If we focus on anything that sways, wiggles or jiggles, It works!
While we are in a state of “non judgement” or Relaxation (non thought) or “movement meditation”, Then during those moments, our Subconscious is able to Consolidate some of the conscious matter. Hence freeing up some space for Fresh Creative Input! Its not an accident why the most effective tool to keep from blowing your top, is to take deep breaths and count to ten. An Exhale is how most toxins leave the body. So deep breaths and long exhales, are like taking out the trash!
When we go to sleep at night, REM sleep is when the information of the day gets converted and processed into the subconscious. It’s a fact that if we didn’t sleep, that we would go insane! Sometimes, during hectic days, we feel like we’re heading in that direction.
So how does Rest lead to improved Productivity?
Productivity is to “Focus”, like Water is to life! And since we utilize only our conscious mind to keep focus on the task at hand, Maintaining as much Clarity as possible, is like using a magnifying glass and the sun to start a fire.
So in your daily ventures, always remember that: “Rest” is what Allows “Work” to be possible Even in the seven days of creation, Rest was the Seventh Day!
